Home

It is so good to be home...to be with my family, my friends, and church family.  Sunday was an awesome day to be at CCC and lead worship, be reminded of the freedom of Christ, and commune with the body of Christ-I missed them so much.  While out on this last tour, we got to play at St. Francis Academy in Kansas.  While we were there, we were able to spend time with some of the boys and learned a little about who they were and where they were from.  It was amazing to see the look on their face when they told us about their home.  You could here the longing, the pain of missing family, and the uncertainty of the present.  It reminded me of the reality of my home and the relationships I have, and the gifts that are abundant from God.  It also reminded me that this is not my home--that my longing is to be in the very presence of God-worshiping Him in the fullness of His Glory-not concerned with a song, but consumed in His Glory....this I long for, this is our Home.

Roxy Music

Just wanted to post a thank you to Bill, Jeff, Reed, and everyone at Roxy Music in LaPorte, IN.  Their support for us (me escpecially) on this tour was so needed and appreciated.  Some of you asked me about the bass and rig that I used on the tour.  You can go to Roxy's site to find the same stuff and more.  Bill (aka JR) will be glad to help you.  Their slogan is "musicians helping musicians"  ---- it is true.  Thanks again guys!!!!

The Rest of the Tour

Dsc00096

Well, due to our schedule, my inability to take good pictures and find the time to post, I just want to say thanks to all of the folks that we got to share music and time with during the last few dates in Wichita,KS (Friends University),  Sioux Falls, SD-Minneapolis, MN, and Zearing, IA.  Thanks to those who are praying for my daughter and family, and those who showed us such love and hospitality---Jim Smith, Chris, Don, and the wonderful Mulnix Family. There are more than I can mention, you know who you are...  I want to especially say thanks to Mitch for allowing me to be a part of what he is doing.  All of these concerts were filled with the message of hope and peace found in the songs and words of Mitch. It was fun to be a part of the big picture.   Brad and Cobra, thanks for being so hospitable to me-  I love you all.  Keep checking Mitch's site for his new recording-it is amazing.  Until next time...

Abilene KS

We played in Abilene KS at the First United Methodist Church on March 21.   The church building was adorned with beutiful artwork throughout.  This picture is one of the many stained glass windows.  We got to share the grace of God with more brothers and sisters, shared a meal with the Walker family, and enjoyed the hospitality of Jim and the folks at FUMC.  The next day we had the honor of sharing with the boys at the St. Francis Academy.  Blessings to all of the students and staff at the school. Thanks for letting us be a part of your day.

Denver

Denver---the sunshine state....
Saturday night was old home night for us in Denver.   Mitch's cousin Scott and his family's church hosted the concert and we all got to spend some time with Scott before and after the concert-what a great guy-.  Cobra Joe's brother stopped in and spent the evening with us- another great guy- and one of my favorite people stopped in from my home town LaPorte, Bill Nelson.  Bill was skiing in the mountains and was able to come to the concert.  There were fellow Hoosiers at the concert along with alot of other wonderful folks who were so supportive of Mitch and what we are doing.
Peace and love to you all!

Wyoming

March2006_058

Did you know that the world's largest hot springs are located in Thermopolis, Wyoming?  Neither did I until we played there on Friday night.  Although we didn't get a chance to soak in the mineral goodness, we got to spend time with the wonderful people there.  The presence of God could definitely be realized throughout the night, which again brings me to the realization of the vastness of the Kingdom of God. We were hosted by the churches of Thermopolis--their unity was inspiring.  Thanks to Vanessa from San Paulo Brazil for taking this picture.
Until next time....keep on worshiping together.

Rocky Mountain College

Dsc00120

Hello from Montana!    We played at Rocky Mountain College in Billings Montana on Thursday, March 16.  The campus is set at the bottom of the "Rim Rocks" which was so beautful to see.   I didn't get a photo due to it being dark and you would just see a flash of light from my camera. So...the next cool thing I could find was this horse with artwork all over it....
Anyway, thanks to Jessica and Julianne for hosting us and allowing us to share with the folks at RMC-it was a great time.  God continues to teach us and show us His glory in the amazing countryside that we get to see in our travels.
Peace...

South Dakota

Dsc00051

Hello from South Dakota!  Here we are at Mt Rushmore in the Black Hills of South Dakota--what an amazing sight.   We played in Pierre SD on Tuesday night.  Thanks to Doug and Krista for promoting the concert and for the hospitality of Communtiy Bible Church and all those who came and spent time with us.  Please keep praying for us as we travel--we had a huge scare in Minnesota on an icy interstate--and for our health.  Pray that our message will be clear and that all we do brings glory to God.  He is faithful--our sicknesses are gone and we are seeing His work each and every night.  We are on our way to Billings Montana tonight to play at Rocky Mountain College.  More later- until then..

Peace and love

Iowa part 1

Dsc00069
Hey from Iowa...

As you can see in this picture, one of us is missing. Mitch got hit full on with the flu last night and today.  He performed the concert anyway and did a great job, which was amazing in itself, but this concert was different.  It was a concert to benefit Kim Lampman and her family.  Kim suffered a stroke and was not supposed to live.  Now thirteen months later, she is making wonderful progress and continues to recover.  God has revealed His faithfulness in the life of this family in so many ways.  God isn't faithful because of circumstance, he is faithful because He is God.  Pray for the Lampan's as they keep on each day and please keep praying for us as we all fight this flu thing and head to South Dakota...
Until next time....
Peace

Who, what, why?

  • I am one of the pastors at Countryside Christian Church in Michigan City, IN. I join in the work of the senior leadership team with my main role leading the worship and creative arts ministries. I get to travel around and share with other Christians in leading them in worship, I get to play music with amazingly talented musicians, and I get to share life with a diverse pallet of other Jesus folk. The thoughts I share here are simply an overflow of what I get to hear, learn, and discover in all of this.
